Wonderful Sugar Cookie Recipe!

We had lots of requests for this Sugar cookie recipe by Becky! They were served at the Springfield Christmas Open House last Saturday. Enjoy!

Sugar Cookies

1 cup white

4 1/2 c. flour

 1 cup powdered sugar

 1 tsp soda

1 cup margarine

1 tsp cream of tartar

 1 cup oil

Pinch of salt

 2 eggs

 Pinch of nutmeg

 1 tsp vanilla.

 Mix sugar margarine and oil then add eggs. Add vanilla, flour, soda and cream of tartar the add salt and nutmeg. Dough may look thin. Chill and roll out to cut with cookie cutters of your chose, /bake at 350 for 10 minutes. This depends on your oven.

 Frost with favo rite icing.

I used : 1 lb. powdered sugar

 1/3 cup white shortening (crisco)

1/2 tsp cream of tartar

 1/4 cup water

 1/2 tsp salt

1 tsp white flavoring

Beat 5 to 7 minutes on medium speed. If to thick you can add little more water but be careful.
